& Programs
A one-hour orientation is held once a month on a Tuesday evening from 7-8 PM at the Birth Center. You will have the opportunity to meet our staff, tour the center, learn about our well woman and childbearing services, and take home an information packet. Please call or e-mail us to register. All family members are welcome.
Representatives from our center often conduct community education programs in nursing schools, high schools, health fairs, etc. Please contact us if you would like to discuss a program for your group or school.
This program is designed specifically for those preparing for an out of hospital birth. The program is 6 weeks in length and is compromised of anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, normal labor process, relaxation and visualization. Complications and transfers from the Birth Center are discussed along with cesarean sections. Breastfeeding and newborn care are also addressed.
Breastfeeding information is part of our birth preparation classes. Suggestions on feeding techniques are often given in the Mom-to-Mom Support Group as well. One-to one counseling can be arranged with our lactation consultant. Contact us for details.
