Nurse-Midwives of Indianapolis was founded in 1988 and in 1993 opened the Birth Center to meet the needs of the women and families in the Indianapolis area. Since opening we have celebrated over 800 births at the center and 2000 births in our nurse-midwifery practice. Barb Bechtel CNM and owner, along with her staff have over 21 years of experience in helping women have the best birthing experience.
The Center is staffed by certified nurse-midwives working in cooperation with their consulting physician to provide OB-GYN services for women at all stages of their lives. We practice based on the timeless truth: Childbirth is a normal, natural event.
